Inspired by the Zhar-Ptitsa (Russian folktale Fire-Bird) which has magical properties and can be caught for good luck. The Cosmic Firebird brings together my Eastern European heritage and love of mythology, and instead of good luck, it represents limitless possibility.

My name is Amelia, and I am in Branford College studying Global Affairs and Earth Sciences. I like to work on stiff paper with watercolor or pastels, and often use blending and shading to create gradients to create flowing colors.
