The Eternal Reader

Charcoal

"The Eternal Reader," sketch of a Greco-Roman Sculpture. This piece is inspired by a Greco-Roman sculpture of a reading girl. A reading girl symbolizes the human pursuit of knowledge across time. In ancient cultures, the act of reading was often tied to the elite or educated, but here, this act is about both intellectual and personal empowerment. Intellectual curiosity transcends time. And it drives us to "re-present ourselves," evolving our understanding and adopting our identities in response to new knowledge and experiences. "The Eternal Reader" represents the timeless nature of curiosity, as well as the idea of re-presenting ourselves in gaining knowledge.

My preferred mediums are charcoal or pencil. My drawings are based on Classical, Greek, and Roman sculptures.
