If there were to be a dragon...
Digital Art
The piece centers around a large dragon sitting atop Schwarzman, with students in colorful masks resting on its back. I was inspired by ideas coming from the magical realism genre. If we were to re-examine and re-present our own worlds and experiences from another perspective, what would we consider magic and what do we consider real? Something considered mythical or strange from one's perspective is completely normal to another. Through the piece, I wanted to position our normal lives in a fantastical context, where dragons and fish fly in the sky and flowers bloom atop buildings. There is magic hiding in every corner. One just has to think about it differently.
