Dream House Quartet’s engagement is part of Yale alum Bryce Dessner’s multi-year residency as the inaugural Artist-in-Residence in Music at Yale Schwarzman Center, in collaboration with extraordinary musicians, artists, thinkers, and doers at and beyond Yale, and produced in partnership with ArKtype / Thomas O. Kriegsmann. As a feature of the multi-project residency, Dessner curated and commissioned new multi-disciplinary works from a roster of creators — including Julia Bullock, Ash Fure, Nathalie Joachim, Kaneza Schaal, and Anna Thorvaldsdóttir. Each artist, including Dessner, is invited to spend time on Yale’s campus engaging in research as the artist develops new works for YSC and beyond. Following a slate of new commissions, Dessner will embark on the creation of a full-length work based on the work of Ocean Vuong in collaboration with acclaimed Director Kaneza Schaal to be premiered at Schwarzman in a future season.
