Yale College Dean Pericles Lewis hosts conversations with faculty experts on the U.S. presidential election, on topics ranging from policies to processes, from polarization to persuasion.  Join fellow Yale students to converse together in person and cut through the often divisive effects of online discussions.

For the final installment in this series join Yale College Dean Pericles Lewis for a conversation with Sterling Professor Alan Gerber, Professor Greg Huber, and Assistant Professor Christine Kinane.

Alan Gerber is Sterling Professor of Political Science, director of the Institution for Social and Policy Studies, and professor of economics and of and statistics and data science at Yale University. He also has affiliations in the Yale School of Public Health and the Jackson School of Global Affairs. Previously he was appointed the Faculty of Arts and Sciences divisional director for the social sciences and became the inaugural FAS dean of social science, serving in this role from 2014 to 2021.

Greg Huber Ph.D., Princeton University 2001, is the Forst Family Professor of Political Science and resident fellow of the Institution for Social and Policy Studies. He is the Associate Director of the Center for the Study of American Politics and the Director of the ISPS Behavioral Research Lab isps.yale.edu/yale-isps-behavioral-research-lab. His research interests are in American Politics and Political Economy, including work on political institution and behavior. Christine M. Kinane is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Yale University and a Research Fellow at the Institution of Social and Policy Studies. Broadly, she studies the role of legislatures, executives, and the bureaucracy in policymaking. In particular, her current research examines how presidents strategically use vacancies in top appointments to promote their policy priorities within the framework of interbranch bargaining. Professor Kinane teaches courses on American politics and U.S. executive politics.
