This weeks class will be led by Johnny Johnson in majorette style dance.

Johnny Johnson, a native of New Haven, CT, began his dance journey at 15 years old at Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School. During high school, he participated in programs such as Earl Mosley Summer Intensive (EMIA), The Ailey Summer Intensive, and CCY Summer Program. He also initiated an after-school dance program called “Beyond Movement” which served as a competitive dance team for Coop High School. Furthering his dance education, he attended Dance Unlimited and competed as part of their competition team. After high school, he pursued a Biomedical Major at Quinnipiac University and participated in their dance team. Johnny has also trained dancers and choreographed award-winning pieces at multiple dance studios. In 2021, he founded The Majorette and Dance Factory, a non-profit organization focused on providing young people in the inner city with opportunities to express their artistic skills and pursue artistic endeavors through dance. The organization also aims to educate them on the history and importance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities..
