EveryBody Dances with Soles of Duende
EveryBody Dances @ Yale Schwarzman Center brings local and visiting dance artists to our Dance Studio to teach masterclasses in jazz, hip hop, salsa, modern, contemporary, precision dance and more! All community members are welcome. This week's instructor will be a member of the Soles of Duende dance company and live music by the Soles of Duende band.
Class Description:
Soles of Duende (Amanda Castro, Arielle Rosales, and Brinda Guha)—an all-female multicultural percussive trio—centers conversation through music. They offer an immersive class experience into the world of migrational music and dance forms. Rooted in the imaginative futures created by the coexistence of their disciplines, Soles of Duende will provide students with an introduction to foundational dance vocabulary from Kathak, Flamenco, and Tap, while guiding participants in musical dialogue. This class features live accompaniment by the Soles of Duende band, composed of musicians AJ Jagannath, Okai Musik, and Ryan the Arkitect Stanbury.
