The Dance Studio is located on the lower level of Yale Schwarzman Center, 168 Grove Street, New Haven, CT 06511.

Doors open at 10:30am.

Free and open to the public, ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

EveryBody Dances @ Yale Schwarzman Center brings local and visiting dance artists to our Dance Studio to teach Sunday masterclasses in jazz, hip hop, salsa, modern, contemporary, precision dance and more! All community members are welcome. This week's class will be led by Tracey Albert teachingCollaborative Choreography Workshop.

Participants will be led through a modern dance warm up and will then be given prompts to create unique phrases in collaboration with each other.

Tracey Albert

For over two decades, Tracey Albert has guided and grown the Dance & Wellness Department at Neighborhood Music School (NMS). Tracey is currently the Director of Dance & Wellness at NMS, following 21 years of service as the Dance Department Chair. She is in her 25th year of teaching at the school. During her time at NMS, Tracey has added several genres of dance to the class schedule, developed and integrated the Collaborative Choreography Initiative across the entire department, and co-created the Premier Dance Company.

Tracey grew up dancing in the New Haven area, graduated from the Educational Center for the Arts, and continued her studies as a dance major at The Boston Conservatory. Over the years, she danced with many small modern companies, spending 10 years with Barbara Feldman and Dancers. Tracey has more than 35 years of studio teaching experience and has taught numerous master classes focusing on collaborative choreography, modern dance, and ballet. She has been a member of Dance Teachers' Club of Connecticut and Dance Masters of America for over 35 years.

FUN FACTS: Tracey grew up on a pig & vegetable farm. She loves to make photo books.

Why Tracey teaches at NMS: "I have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of teaching artists and student body across many genres of dance and music. It is a place where I can help my students to discover themselves through the art of dance and give them tools to navigate life."
