The Council on Middle East Studies at Yale, the Center for American Studies and Research (CASAR) at the American University of Beirut (AUB), and AUB present a workshop production of a new play about the extraordinary life and times of the renowned Arab-American foreign correspondent Anthony Shadid. The winner of two Pulitzer Prizes for his reporting from the Middle East for The Washington Post and The New York Times, Shadid was also the author of the acclaimed memoir House of Stone.

On Saturday, April 30 at 2:00pm at the Macmillan Center, a panel of renowned journalists who knew and worked with Shadid will be held, sponsored by Yale’s Poynter Fellowship in Journalism and AUB’s Global Engagement Initiative, and organized by the Initiative’s director Rami G. Khouri. A workshop production of A Thousand Strange Places will also be presented on Monday, May 2 at 7:00pm at Open Jar Studio Theater, 1601 Broadway, #11A, New York.
