Celebrating Hub New Music's 10th Anniversary

Founded in 2013, Hub New Music has grown into an international touring ensemble driven by its unyielding dedication to groundbreaking new art. Over the past decade, Hub has commissioned dozens of new works for its distinct combination of flute, clarinet, violin, and cello. The group actively collaborates with today’s most celebrated composers to build a fresh and culturally relevant body of work tailor-made for Hub.

"As a member of Hub, it’s not uncommon for someone to receive a mixtape on their birthday. For our 10th anniversary in 2023, Hub made our own birthday mixtape of sorts. This program features eight new works commissioned for the occasion by an esteemed cohort of composers, whose work gives a snapshot of the music being written today. This collection of works by Angélica Negrón, Jessica Meyer, Tyshawn Sorey, Nico Muhly, Donnacha Dennehy, Marcos Balter, Sage Shurman, and Andrew Norman capture the essence of Hub. We’re thrilled to share them in a program that celebrates our vibrant artistic community."
