When I travel to my parents' homeland, I encounter a city both familiar and unfamiliar; traditional and new. Heritage manifests not only in our intimate worlds through food, language, and culture, but also the wider built environment around us. I hope to depict the scintillating, overwhelming feeling of discovering this for the first time.
