Streams is a video sculpture that invites multiple situations for looking. Designed as a trompe-l’oeil public bathroom sink that functions as both a mirror and a tool for surveillance reflecting the architecture of the dome. Visitors can interact with the sculpture by looking through the sink’s drain hole to discover a hidden monitor displaying live footage of visitors moving along the space captured by a hidden camera. A large scale projection of observing eyes will also be displayed adjacent to the video sculpture. The title plays on the growing culture of narcissism and surveillance perpetuated by live streaming platforms.
