Amid a concert calendar that includes appearances in London, Milan, Paris, and New York, celebrated opera star and Schwarzman Center advisory board member Renée Fleming visits New Haven for her much-anticipated solo performance, accompanied by Yale Professor and pianist Gerald Martin Moore

Hailed as “a superstar by any measure” (The New York Times), Fleming is among the most acclaimed singers of our time, performing on the stages of the world’s greatest opera houses and concert halls. Honored with five Grammy® awards, the US National Medal of Arts, and most recently a Kennedy Center Honor for lifetime artistic achievements, she has sung for momentous occasions from the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony to the Super Bowl.

A leading advocate for research at the intersection of arts and health, Fleming launched the first ongoing collaboration between The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the NIH. Additionally, as part of her New Haven agenda, the founding advisor for the Sound Health Network at UCSF will co-host a public Music & Mind forum on January 20 in Commons with Yale Professor and host of the popular “Happiness Lab” podcast Dr. Laurie Santos.
